George Nelson
American architect, designer and writer George Nelson (1908-86) was a leading voice in mid-century American modernism. Specialising in 20th century modernist furniture, he collaborated with many leading creators of the time and was the director of design at Herman Miller for 25 years. He also founded New York-based design firm George Nelson & Associates which was behind numerous iconic designs such as the Marshmallow sofa, the Bubble lamp and the Coconut chair.
