Thomas Chippendale
Illustrious British cabinet maker Thomas Chippendale (1718-79) was renowned for his mastery of mid-Georgian, English Rococo and Neoclassical furniture design. His work was the epitome of British furniture design at that time and remains appreciated across the globe today. His collectible pieces – which include everything from quality mahogany cabinets and desks to intricately crafted gold gilded tables and chairs – can be spotted at stately homes across the country. Famous pieces include the Diana and Minerva Commode commissioned in 1773 for Harewood House in Yorkshire.
