Pair 19th Century English miniature silhouettes depicting Sir and Lady Tatton Sykes in profile. These hand-painted silhouettes, also known as profile miniatures, show a gentleman and lady, bust-length in traditional dress of the period. Circa 1830.
Sir Tatton Sykes wears a low top hat of the type used when riding. The Sykes family lived at Sledmere House to the east of York.
