Description
Unique late 19th century wall mirror from the so-called "Historism" period in Austria around 1880. This wall mirror shows an overlapped substructure made of spruce wood and impresses with a very unusual surface: the frame looks like it has been veneered at first sight but it isn't, it shows an unusual fantastic painted grain - an elaborate technique called "dough glaze". The mirror has additionally been adorned by lovely designed gilt stucco bars which show a nice patina.
