Description
Modern sterling silver butter dish in form of Viking longboat. Made by Durgin in Concord, ca 1920. Ovoid with looping sternpost and tall and scrolled stempost with notches for holding knives (not included). Gilt interior. Oval liner with upturned ends, central oval finger ring, and ornamental piercing. Boat fully marked including maker’s stamp, Montgomery Bros retailer’s stamp, and no. 80. Liner marked “Sterling”.
