175 - George III campaign writing box (1795-1800) made of mahogany with extensive brass protective strapping, brass corner, brass side handles, escutcheon and top plaque. The interior has secret drawers and openings and a replacement leather made to match the maker's name. There is a screwdown key with screw each side (one screw missing, one remaining) and an auto locking pull out drawer to the side. The ink jars unusually have ebony and boxwood lids.
