This faience soup tureen was made in the Philippe Mombaers factory in Brussels circa 1765; the cabbage tureen, its cover, and stand are painted in green tones with yellow highlights. The color combination is exquisite. The tureen is a gem of naturalism. Beautifully molded, the cabbage sits on a stand formed by cabbage leaves. The finial is in the form of a snail.
