Description
Large gilt wall mirror from the Biedermeier period in Austria from the early 19th century, circa 1830. The gilt artful processed frame is adorned by beautiful floral stucco works and covered by an absolute great looking patina. The mirror glass, still the original one with some aging spots and light scratches, shows a very special facet cut with concave fillets. Red shimmering spots which shines through the slightly abrased surface are caused by the so-called "Bolus", the substrate for gold leaf...
