Description
Remarkable pair of 18th century nutwood chairs from the so-called "Josephinism" period in Austria - the regency era of Emperor Joseph II., son of famous empress Maria Theresia. Made around 1790 of fine, solid nutwood, this highly decorative chairs come with a lovely striped grey/blue fabric (newly upholstered already 4 years ago). The artfully crafted backs are defintley the highlight and impress with their elaborately handcarved design. The visible "wooden" nails which were used back in the day...
