George Nakashima

American woodworker, furniture maker and architect George Nakashima (1905-90) was one of the original leaders of the American Studio movement. His innovative designs made him one of the industry’s leading 20th century voices – his pieces are instantly recognisable for their unique aesthetic and use of exposed wood. His most distinctive designs include the Conoid, Mira and Captain chairs and his hand-crafted custom rare wood tables.
