Gillows of Lancaster

Gillows of Lancaster was a British furniture firm founded in Lancaster, England, by Robert Gillow around 1730. The company quickly became known for delivering premium quality and its prestigious, sought-after pieces were placed in homes and buildings across the country, where many remain to this day. The company was managed by the Gillows family until 1814 when it was taken over by new owners Leonard Redmayne, Whiteside, and Ferguson, who continued to use the Gillows name until it was merged with Waring to become Waring & Gillows in 1903.
