This is a large and beautiful oil on canvas painting of the Grand Canal with a view of San Simeone Piccolo by the renowned British artist Alfred Pollentine (1836-1890), signed and dated '77 on the lower right.
This beautiful waterscape captures a striking view of the Grand Canal, it features a busy canal scene with sailing boats and gondoliers in the foreground, in the distance an excellent perspective with the church of San Simeone Piccolo on the left.
